The VKE-1K electric rail drill is a hand-held device designed for drilling holes with a diameter of 10 – 31 mm into the rail web, for example during maintenance, emergency repairs of the railway superstructure, during the construction of new tracks and wherever it is necessary to drill holes into the rail web.

The electric rail drill VKE-1K (hereinafter referred to as the drill) is a hand-held device designed for drilling holes with a diameter of 10 – 31 mm into the rail web, for example during maintenance, emergency repairs of the railway superstructure, during the construction of new tracks and wherever it is necessary to drill holes into the rail web. The device is driven by a three-phase electric motor, via a bevel gearbox, which rotates the drill spindle. The device is equipped with internal tool flushing. The device includes a rail holder and a flushing device

The drill consists of a spindle that is adapted for flushing the tool (drill). Part of the spindle is equipped with a mechanism for spindle feed. The spindle feed is carried out by a movable handle. A drill is clamped on the output part of the spindle. The spindle is connected to a gearbox driven by an electric motor. The drill is clamped on the rail using a special holder.
